Web Services
Web hosting & domain names are an area where a lot of people get a little confused as they don't have a great understanding of how it all works and many of the web designers prefer to keep it that way as it keeps their customers needing their services!
I can offer suitable web hosting packages tailored to fit individual requirements that are reliable and sensibly priced depending on what features are required.

Setting up your website need not be a painful exercise, from choosing your domain name to getting your first webpage up and running need only take an hour or two. I can usually have you found by google and most of the major search engines within a few days of activation.
Purchasing a Domain Name
To put things simply, a domain name is just the text that is entered in a web browser to point an internet user at your own particular website. It can be pretty much anything you like but obviously it must be totally unique to you. Having two names the same could not possibly work. So if your chosen domain www.myname.com is already taken then you have to either find the owner and buy it from them, or just simply choose something else. Once you have found and registered your name you pay a small fee each year to keep it your own.
Website Hosting
Once you have your name, you then need somewhere to store your website pages that is permanently available to the internet. A simple website is really just a folder on a hard drive containing a few documents (pages). More complicated websites are basically the same but with more varied content and scripts etc that make the website work.
If you really wanted to you can host a website on your own pc, mac, laptop etc but the reliability, security, and cost involved make this an impractical solution for most people.
Web hosting usually involves renting some space on a shared hard drive amongst many others on a shared system that is secure, reliable and has it's own dedicated support team to keep it running. They will point your domain name to your own personal folder and give you access to upload your files etc.
